The New £100 million IKEA Store at Greenwich is to make the IKEA concept of home furnishing expertise available to many people in the Greenwich and outlying areas. As well as offering free green space and communal relaxation areas for people to meet, share & learn. The development will function as a community hub with Bookable event areas and shared spaces for local groups, members of the public & co-workers to enjoy.
The Building is 32,000 SQM store set over two floors and features a rooftop pavilion, biodiversity gardens and a restaurant offering much more than a shopping experience.
A leading sustainable store for the UK Built to ensure energy and resource efficiency, targeting a BREEAM “excellent” accreditation incorporating the following:
- Upcycling solutions
- Green walls
- Rainwater harvesting & greywater treating (50% water reduction)
- Connection to the district heating scheme
- Sustainable drainage
- Renewable technologies
- Photovoltaic panels
- Two Stage evaporative cooling system on ventilation plant
- Energy Recovery devices to ERP 2018 on ventilation plant
- Low SFP on all Fans
Air Handlers Northern Ltd provided nine air handling units of which four were Air2O-Airhandlers two stage evaporative cooling systems. The system attenuators were also designed and manufactured by Air handlers Norther along with On-site assembly, volumetric factory testing of AHU 03 (10.5m3/sec) and Factory coil water pressure test.
