Direct Evaporative Cooling
With direct evaporative cooling, outside air is blown through a water-saturated medium (usually cellulose) and cooled by evaporation. The cooled air is circulated by a fan.
Direct evaporative cooling adds moisture to the air stream close to saturation. Then dry bulb temperature is reduced, while the wet bulb temperature stays the same.
Indirect Evaporative Cooling
With indirect evaporative cooling, a secondary air stream is cooled by water. The cooled secondary air stream goes through a heat exchanger, where it cools the primary air stream. The cooled primary air stream is circulated by a fan.
Indirect evaporative cooling does not add moisture to the primary air stream.
What is IDEC Evaporative Cooling?
- IDEC Evaporative Cooling is a 2 stage evaporative cooling system
- Using potable water – (or Grey Water)
- 1st stage water is cooled via a indirect heat exchanger allowing us to pre cool the air with no added moisture at approx.80% efficiency
- 2nd stage is a direct evaporative cooling section achieving 95% efficiency
- This Combination means we can achieve 125% cooling of the wet bulb temperature with approx.50% less moisture
- Provides superior performance than conventional direct evaporative cooling approaches
- Significant Energy Savings
- Water consumption is very low
- DX or chilled water can be incorporated (Hybrid)

Envirofresh and Classvent


Packaged units such as Envirofresh and Classvent units are pre commissioned at the factory prior to despatch. The units are factory pre-wired and complete with a comprehensive control system, to minimise on site installation time. All units provide full fresh air ventilation with a heat recovery device to increase the temperature of the incoming fresh air and are fully compliant with the European Directive ErP 2016 (Energy Related Products) for electrical engines and fans.
Application
- Combine with other systems such as VRV and chilled water fan coils to provide tempered fresh air.
- Where occupant fresh air requirement exceeds design cooling volume.
- Available with volumes from 0.5m3/s to 7.0m3/s
Acoustic Test Programme to BS EN ISO 10140 2:2010
During 2013 the company embarked on an Acoustic Test Programme for twenty different frame/panel systems and have them certified to BS EN ISO 10140 2:2010 International Standard Method for Measurement of Sound Test see Report 1429/2060

Air Handlers are committed to the energy reduction commitments laid down by the Energy Related Products (ErP) Directive 2009/125/EC law which comes into force on 1st January 2016 with further changes on 1st January 2018.

Fully packaged Skid mounted gas fired heat pump unit with the air handling unit and heat pump condensing units mounted onto a common baseframe fabricated skid, with factory fitted refrigeration pipework and integral packaged controls, fully refrigerant charged and factory tested.
